The event was held on Saturday 3rd October 2015 at Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens, on Rhodes Drive in Newlands, Cape Town South Africa.

The weather was absolutely foul it poured with rain from beginning to end.   Megan Carr founder of RIA and Francis Garrard founder of Conservation Action Trust delivered official documents to the Chinese Consulate in Newlands.  They were refused entry and only after a lengthy time did they send out the security guard to collect the documents.

Freezing cold but stalwart supporters huddled together at the coffee shop at Kirstenbosch a national television station interviewed both Megan and Francis.  The deputy shadow minister for the environment Democratic Party Johni Edwards and Andrea von Gunten Miss Earth Africa joined Megan and Francis who led the way through the gardens to the Boomslang which is an iconic suspension bridge in Kirstenbosh.  On the bridge in the pouring rain speeches were  delivered by Megan, Francis and Johni.

The supporters then walked into the gardens and the children laid wreaths for the many Rhino, Elephant and Lion that have been killed unnecessarily during the past year.
